On November 5, 2008, Attorney General Brown made the unprecedented announcement that SA Dillon had died in the line of duty. This is the first time in the history of the Department that a “line of duty” death has been affirmed for a special agent who developed cancer from work-related exposure. SA Dillon gave his life in the line of duty and will be recognized for making the ultimate personal sacrifice.
