The California Department of Justice (CA DOJ), Division of Law Enforcement would like to invite all CA DOJ and Allied Agency personnel to a memorial tribute to honor Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement Special Agent (SA) Pat Dillon, who died of cancer in 2007.
On November 5, 2008, Attorney General Brown made the unprecedented announcement that SA Dillon had died in the line of duty. This is the first time in the history of the Department that a “line of duty” death has been affirmed for a special agent who developed cancer from work-related exposure. SA Dillon gave his life in the line of duty and will be recognized for making the ultimate personal sacrifice.
The tribute for SA Dillon will be held on July 21, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Advanced Training Center in Rancho Cordova. The Medal of Purple Heart will be awarded posthumously to SA Dillon’s widow and children.
All special agents are requested to please make a concerted effort to attend this tribute and honor our fallen agent.
